Now with the iPhone 4s released, now is a great time to have an overview what you will

With the new update that rolled out for all iDevices ranging from iPhones to iPod Touches to iPads, it is a pretty big deal considering the market share that these devices have. But if you are in the dark of knowing what is so important about this update, we have the answer in this Post.

(Before I begin I would like to say that not all these features are available on certain generations of hardware, you have been notified.)

New Features Included

-New Personal Setup- When you get a new iDevice (Or reset your device) you also have a new personal setup when you first start it up where you can set it up right at the device instead of got o iTunes screen. A newly redesigned interface adds the inclusion of even restoring your old setup from a previous iDevice (But only from the same model, you cant open a iPod back up on a iPad, but you can do it for iPod to iPhone or vise-versa). Everything you did at iTunes is in a easy on phone/pad/touch system. I like it.

-iCloud- In case if you haven’t known about this new feature to iDevices, iCloud allows people to universally store their photos, documents, music across the internet and now your iDevice can share your files across the web.

-Over the Air Updates-Now you can get small time updates over the internet.

-New Camera App Features- (With new effects for times of fun!)

-Twitter Integration

-iMessage- The messaging system of the future. Talk  with Apple devices with iOS 5. Receive delivery notifications and see when recipients are typing.

-NewsStand- Here you can manage all your news subscriptions here

-New Reminder System- Create reminders that can be set with date and location information.

-Siri- Your own personal manager that you can talk to with your voice. Set up appointments, do commands all while just talking to your iPhone 4S, yes its only available on the iPhone 4s.

New Features Included for iPad

-Multi-Touch Gestures- Now multi-touch gestures have been added and you can do commands with a flick of your finger(s).

-Split Keyboard- Now the keyboard can be split the keyboard so it fits your thumbs when typing, and hey now you see more of your screen.

Remember Google Chrome? Remember it’s Chrome App Store? Well, now its functionality has expanded well beyond the reach of web browsing. Presenting, what Google calls Chrome Desktop Sharing. A Chrome app that runs though its browser (that’s behaving like a platform) that can allow people to take control of another person’s computer.

image thumb1 Chrome Desktop Sharing in Beta

Although there are many other programs that can handle this task, most notably TeamViewer(even Skype can allow people to to show their screen to a user in a call) this is a first to have this in a browser.

In the release notes it states "This version enables users to share with or get access to another computer by providing a one-time authentication code," Google states in the release notes. "Access is given only to the specific person the user identifies for one time only, and the sharing session is fully secured." (Until a security leak is found)

The app works by having the user installing the app and granting Google permission to access the PC, users have two options: share the computer, or link to access a computer. When sharing, the app produces three sets of four numbers — the connecting computer applies this the one time use code in the entry field and clicks "Connect." The app then checks the code and connects the two computers together. This program grants full access to the person controlling the computer with the user being able to override and disconnect if the person connected is trying to do naughty things.

This feature will be good for many people who are rather afraid of installing a program on their computer and simplifies the process since Google Chrome (at least shown on Wikipedia usage stats) has a usage average of 20 percent. This will be really helpful to people trying to help people less inclined on more technical issues. This service will be available to users of Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Google also stated that a feature based on this technology will allow people to remote access their computer anywhere. But hey one step at a time, and this changed the way I thought of my browser.

PhotoShop Gives A Sneak Peek Of New Feature “Motion Blur Killer”http://guidegoodshq.com/2011/10/motion-blur-killer-new-feature-for-photoshop.html http://guidegoodshq.com/2011/10/motion-blur-killer-new-feature-for-photoshop.html#comments Mon, 10 Oct 2011 21:49:26 +0000 Angelo http://guidegoodshq.com/2011/10/motion-blur-killer-new-feature-for-photoshop.html

Tired of taking shots with your point and shoot camera on a perfect scene where everything is good for a photo, except when you taken the slot and look at your picture preview the photo is all blurry? Tired of shots where your subject was completely still but came out like a 1940’s Bigfoot photo?

I sure know I am… (after dealing with these scenarios more than I would like to)

2 PhotoShop Gives A Sneak Peek Of New Feature Motion Blur Killer

Right now at Adobe’s MAX 2011 Conference, a new planned feature for Photoshop officially but un-officially (not the final name) dubbed “Motion Blur Killer” does what it is said to be done. Removes (kills) that unwanted motion blur that a slight movement caused to murder your photos. It is still a prototype and wont work for mis-focused shots but still, if I had a penny for each shot with that unwanted motion blur, I would have 5 US dollars.

The rep on the video wont say which version of Photoshop it will ship with (Hopefully when CS6 comes out we’re guessing) but on the video featured here, a few clicks and the photo is restored.

Photoshop analyses how bad the picture is blurred, how did the blur happen (like if you moved the camera slightly left and the photo made it look like you we traveling left at a 100 km/h) then reverses what happened and compensates for it.

It is really cool tech and could signify even new features of what may come of our future cameras. Now if I could only find that burred sunset photo, that was a good shot…

Tell us that you think in the comments below.

After about 2 years since the iPad’s release, there has been no official iPad App from Facebook for its use of the social network. There was a leaked one but still not a stable release. That has changed today, now you can download the official iPad App for Facebook off of the App Store today. (Even though there has been already 3rd Party IPad Facebook apps for quite some time)

image thumb “Facebook for iPad”, is now out

(A screen shot of the Facebook iPad App)

The mobile version of Facebook will now feature Social Game posts on your news feed. (Yay!) so when you tap Farmville on Facebook, your iPad will fast switch to the app if its installed. If you didn’t have it installed it would link you to the App Store Page with the game/app ready to download.

This app integration also works with the Facebook’s mobile web version. Facebook also now revamped it’s mobile Facebook site, and if there is a mobile web version of the app it will lead you to it. Invitations in turn will also be seamless from any platform that uses the new framework. (This feature will also be available for android users later.) Hopefully these features can help App/Game Developers get more use out of their creations on Facebook. (You can look at the showcase here http://www.facebookmobileweb.com/showcase/)

It also will have HD Video support, Air Play, so if you have a video playing on your iPad it can also be streamed to your Apple TV device.

This is one of the many signs Facebook will be doing more with HTML5. Some developer blog posts have talked about making games in HTML 5, and will likely will sourcing open source developer tools later on.

But these news are not so ground breaking, it has been stated that the app has been ready for launch even since May and their lead developer has even left for that reason though. But the games premise sounds nice.

The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a very powerful tool for photo editing; it even can rival Adobe Photoshop in power if some people use it correctly. However, it can be pretty intimidating when you first open it. This guide should solve any worries so you can use GIMP to its highest potential.

Part One of this guide will guide you around the ropes on GIMP’s UI. Let us get started shall we?

(We will be using Windows 7 for this guide, however there should be no major differences GIMP between Operating Systems except more features on the Linux release which we will cover later)

Please note: For people who like hotkeys we will have them listed in Bold and Caps next to a tool which uses them. Start early when using hotkeys, practice makes perfect. Example of a hotkey, Ctrl + V for paste is an example. If you want a picture bigger, just click on it.

For this guide you will need

  • GIMP 2.6 and above (Get it here http://www.gimp.org/downloads)
  • A Computer consisting of one of the following operating systems (Linux, XP, Vista, 7)
  • Preliminary knowledge of how to install a program and use drop-down menus.

1.1 Introduction

You have GIMP Installed and you are ready to go. Except, you don’t know what to do, you are overwhelmed by the number of Icons and dialog lists that you do not know what they do. Fear not, we will break them down to 3 simple workplaces.

clip image002 thumb The Complete Beginners Guide to GIMP: Part 1

YELLOW – This is the Toolbox, The toolbox is where you choose what you want to do with your creation on gimp. Here, I divided and color coded it into four major parts.

GRAY- This is the work area, this is where you apply effects, see what you are creating and the main point of your document, you do almost everything here, almost.

PINK- This is the Dialog area, this area is home to layer control, histograms, gradient samples, and a bunch of good stuff we will explain later.

1.2 The Toolbox

clip image004 thumb The Complete Beginners Guide to GIMP: Part 1

First we will cover the toolbox. The toolbox is where you choose what you want to do with your creation on gimp. Here, I divided and color coded it into four major parts.

RED – These are the tools, when you click on one of them, they have a specific job and is represented by an icon (Usually on what it does). Example, the erase tool (SHIFT+E), erases a certain part of the canvas.

GREEN – This is the Color selection, you get to choose the color you want to use when painting on the work area. (We will get to the work area soon). You can choose the Foreground Color (The color on the front) and the Background color (The color on the back) one double clicking each color will show a color selection window, you get to click and drag your pointer for the desired color. First, you chose which main color you want then change the hue and tone.

ORANGE – Tool Properties, you get to choose how your tool behaves. Example, I have the Paintbrush selected, you will be able to draw on the work area. In the Tool Property section, I can make the brush bigger, change the mode, and change the brush and so forth. You will be using this lot, later.

BLUE – Property Save, you get to default your properties and/or save them independently. Don’t touch this for now.

1.3 The Work Area

clip image006 thumb The Complete Beginners Guide to GIMP: Part 1

In the work area you do almost everything, this is your control panel. To get started and begin to make a new file just click File>New or select the main work area window and press CTRL + N. Select the size you want by typing it in, there you have it. Now you are ready to start. But we won’t do anything for now. If you want to save your work just File>Save/Save As. Or CTRL + S

1.4 Dialogs

clip image008 thumb The Complete Beginners Guide to GIMP: Part 1

The Dialogs are important, they manage layers (the order of stuff you have, example if text is above a picture, you will see your text shown above first and the picture on the bottom) color channels (useful for photo editors) and other stuff that we will show in the later parts.

The top part of the Dialog menu is for tabs for other Dialogs, in this photo you see a dialog for layers, channels, paths (saved selections) and history. On the bottom you have corresponding icons for the dialogs. The blank page on the bottom is to make a new layer.

1.4.1 Understanding Layers

clip image010 thumb The Complete Beginners Guide to GIMP: Part 1

In GIMP you are going to see layers a lot. Here is way to understand them.

Layers are photos within photos, they have transparency features so you can see though some parts that are not drawn though and they are stackable, the higher the layer on the dialog means it is above the bottom layer. See New Layer above Hydrangeas.jpg? The New Layer is above Hydrangeas.jpg therefore you see it above it.

Every time you make a new layer (SHIFT) it will always be above the other one.

1.5 Functionality of GIMP

GIMP can do most of the things Photoshop do, and even does some the things Photoshop does but better. GIMP can crop photos, add filters to them, has layer support, has transparency support and is pretty versatile. But now you are familiar with the user interface.

Next time, we will do basic and some cool stuff within GIMP.

How was the guide? Need any explanation?  I would love to hear from you. Comment below!

On 7:50 P.M.Co-Founder Steve Jobs of Apple is now deceased. After a long battle of cancer the company released a statement upon his death,

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today, Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

He was 56 years old.

Stvedeath Former Apple CEO/Co Founder of Apple: Steve Jobs is Pronounced Dead

Steve Jobs Dead: Whats Left of Apple

Controversial, but innovative- that was the company when Steve Jobs was in his seat of CEO of Apple. He changed the way we purchased music, he brought the personal media player into the public eye, he made the personal computer the way it is when the first Apple Computer was made. He was a good speaker, presenting ideas that no one ever thought of, he revolutionized the way we used our phones even.

His creative spark was the lighthouse of the company. Now that is extinguished, even with his board member seat he still had a lot to say what was being done at Apple. However, the company is at risk.

The company so far is at a crossroads, they are going to experience a road so rocky, it will shake the company. Steve Jobs was the main powerhouse on the company, he propelled it forward, and when he propelled the company, he also propelled the world. The company has a big crater to fill, a creative void.

Apple was already in a transition state with Tim Cook getting everything in order, now this shook things up. The company will have to defend it’s self from voracious companies who will try to use this death to their advantage.

Apple will never be the same, right now it already took a big hit when Tim Cook became in power, with a lot of scrutiny, people were disappointed with the iPhone 4s when it was revealed. And now I think it will get worse, unless they do something fast.

The instinctive easy way to strengthen a particular web page’s SEO is to load the sucker with as many links as possible. But any seasoned SEO strategist will tell you that while links are always good, too many is definitely bad.

Google’s advanced algorithms are just too good to let such a simple gimmick get in the way of authenticating the true value of a particular page. Yet the true consequences of overloading a web page with links are often misconstrued with fears that Google is out to get you if you ever dare surpass their recommended link limit.

3244476512 f49b08b678 m The Myth of Building Too Many Links At Once

In fact, it was Google’s curiously questionable “100-link limit” that has for years made SEO strategists wonder how important the issue of too many links could be. Until recently, the “rule” was included in Google’s guidelines for webmasters.

It’s removal caused many to wonder what the true intentions behind the rule were. Was it to safeguard the search engine against spam? Or was it just to scare webmasters into not pushing potentially excessive amounts of links?

It turns out Google’s original concern about pages including more than 100 links had to do with their early capabilities. Once upon a time, Google could only index so much of a page due to limits in available bandwidth.

This limit equaled out to about 100 links on a page. If a page had more, then Google’s bots would bypass it, excluding it from ranking. That was enough to scare SEOs straight.

But according to comments made by Matt Cutts, Google’s search science guru, the idea that more than 100 links is life-threatening to your website is not necessarily true despite the maxim still remaining to be a good rule of thumb for amateur web designers. Cutts claims that he himself will publish blog posts with even 200 links in them.

He says that the 100-link limit is more for the benefit of starting SEO than Google. Without preexisting strength to counter-act the negative reaction visitors will experience when seeing so many links, many small sites will struggle with low pagerank so long as they pump pages full of links.

4052765588 c700260886 m The Myth of Building Too Many Links At Once

As far as Google banning pages with more than 100 links from pagerank, Cutts assures such is not the case. While it throws up red flags, even they aren’t enough to incite Google to remove the site from pagerank. Chances are the most harm will come from lowered pagerank, not from “getting caught”.

So that scheme you cooked up about creating a web page consisting of nothing but links to Anywho.com listings and other enormous collections of public information? It’s probably not a good idea so long as you’re still a young up-and-coming SEO.

The first step to becoming a professional webmaster is to learn all the various software and technology needed to build the websites. Advances and new technology are announced daily. Clients are more knowledgeable and tech-savvy today than ever before. You don’t want to be caught not being able to answer their questions. You also need to be sure you can deliver any requests that a client makes. If you promise to deliver certain features, you need to make actually do it.You should have to at least have 3 or 4 sites in your portfolio. These sites should be your best works, all showing something new and unique. You need to make sure that the owners of those sites are happy with your work in the event a new client contacts them. There are a number of webmasters out there who are not delivering the product their clients want. You need to make sure that prospective clients know you are reliable. If you are planning on being freelance webmaster then you should be ready for all the responsibilities of being a small business owner. Many businesses fail as a result of poor planning. Some people aren’t aware they need one while some just completely neglect it.

You need to offer your own equipment and be able to keep it updated. You also need to manage the finances and new projects. Knowing the most cost-effective services you need for your business like cheap web hosting is also essential. You should expect to spend half your working hours marketing and promoting your services. You will also be responsible for getting paid. Yes there is a level of freedom but there is also less security. If you become successful then surely it pays off but there is an inherent risk that you should be aware of. Working for a design firm may be a better answer for some. You have more resources and more job security. Of course you may be doing work you do not want to do and have to enter in a lower position but that is the trade off. You do not need to have a college degree to become a professional webmaster. You just need to be able to show your talent. There are, however, some real benefits in going to a web development school. A web design certificate may come handy specially when you’re facing a picky customer. Attending a business school may also be beneficial. Marketing and business management are a lot different from designing websites. Since you would be working mostly with people who want websites for their business, you should be familiar with various business solution providers including business web hosting which you would surely need. You also have to use the latest techniques such as social networking in promoting and marketing a site.

You may find yourself to be a great designer but not the best marketer. Knowing your weaknesses will only help you become better at the job. You may have to learn a couple of things the hard way but at least you will still be moving forward. I hope you found this post useful and it helps you become not just a webmaster but a professional one as well. Good luck!

Do you want to get a bunch of one-way backlinks pointing straight to your site or page?

Hello, my name is Edwin and today I want to share with you a little piece of software that I have worked on for a few days. If you didn’t know already I love technology, hence the reason I made this website.

For the past few months I’ve wanted to learn a programming language, because if your someone who loves technology and wants to do it for a living this is something you gotta know how to do.

I originally was learning Java, but then decided to stop as I would eventually learn it later. I then decided to check out a language called Visual Basic. Let me tell you something about Visual Basic, it’s the easiest and most fun programming language I’ve ever attempted to learn.

If you’re a newbie to programming I recommend checking it out.

Anyways, after two days of seeing tutorial after tutorial I finally got the hang of it and began programming small little applications like a timer and a web browser. I then decided to tackle on a bigger project. I wanted to make a program that helps you get backlinks.

Basically, I wanted to help you guys get your site noticed and start making real income with them.
