My computer starts to sound like a vacuum-cleaner every time I run Minecraft.

But now that I set the high priority the fan doesn’t work that much.

    Thanks a lot Edwin!

In task manager java is under the processes tab. Maybe you were looking at the applications tab and that’s why you could not find it. Also no worries about high priority. Another tip I didn’t mention in the article was to turn ALL your settings off in the options of mine-craft. Hope that helped, thanks for commenting!

  9. You’re right – I started playing a few months ago and I certainly AM HOOKED! I can only play the classic version. But it’s still awesome! Blame Notch for making it so addicting!

In classic, if you want to reduce the lag, you can try showing the FPS, then changing the fog distance. Try to get 60 FPS or higher. After you’re done changing the options, you can make it so it doesn’t show the FPS anymore.

    Oh, and one last thing!
I have my own Minecraft classic server!
It’s called “thePLAYER Team”, and it’s on in the afternoon!

4:00 PM GMT -5:00 Eastern Time
    to
8:30 PM GMT -5:00 Eastern Time

  15. every time I play minecraft, even if I close every window other than minecraft, it runs very slowly, on VERY low FPS, I’m on a quad core AMD Phenom processor, it almost crashes and at times has crashed, anyone know a solution?

  16. My computer lags when you play logged in. If you do not log in, create a new world, you can play forever without it lagging. But when you log in, and either start a new level, or play an existing level, it will now lag, even if you log out, turn off internet and play logged off. Why is this? I tried what you suggested as well, and decreased graphics.

  17. Hi,
